Hi all,

I have problems to update the firmware. When I start KWT it appears a with message with the availability of a new firmware. I accept the proposal and them it shows a box with the selection of the device and the port. Then it shows the version. When I press next and start the update process, the control unit is connected (blue lights) but in 5 second it seems that the bike lots the connection and pass to green lights. After that the pc shows an error message.

An idea what is the problem? It could be the bluetooth adaptor?

Thanks

Hi

the normal way should be:

1. Firmware Tool starts
2. Select device
3. Firmware tool connects and Shows Version info
4. Firmware tool sets the Racer to update mode
5. Racer get black! All lights are out.
6. Tool Shows Progress.
7. On Finish the racer starts and Shows green.
8. Tool Shows finish.

Hi,

I had the same problem this morning following the update. I tried reinstalling from scratch, pairing, etc. but in all cases the blue/red stage is reached buth then reverts to blinking green after a few seconds.
I have sent the error log file to contact@kettler.de. I am not sure it was the proper contact for this kind of issue.

The strange thing is that when I tried with S-fit to check that it was not hardware related, I had a message stating that the firmware of the racerS could NOT be upgraded but then the connection worked.

How can this be fixed?

Regards

In the first Screen can you select another COM Port?

In most cases there is only one com port but sometimes there are two and if selected the wrong this message appears.

It is not the problem, I have tried with all options of com ports, and after choose the correct port the software communicate with the device to read the current installed firmware. This is action is made correctly. So it must be other problem. Thanks

I think the Connection attempt for the Firmware update takes too Long.

After starting Firmware the tool Needs to reconnect to the racer.

Can you try it with a different Bluetooth module or another pc/Laptop with Bluetooth?

I have tried with three different devices and exactly the same behaviour with all. Thanks again for quick answer.

Hello Wolfgang and Xavi104,

user hajoco have had exactly the same problem like Xavi104,

-> After KWT Update 2.0.2.x and the new firmware KWT and PC weren't abel to communicate (BT) any more.

The solution: Deinstallation of all 2.0.2.x Updates (only the updates) -> cross on in system manager -> pograms and Features
"Show Updates"
And then installing the KWT 2.0.1.32er update.
Then you have to pair again.

greetings

Erik

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if they have been able to carry out this firmware update successfully? I decided to try today and had exactly the same problem stated here. It started the update and then gave me the message that the update had failed and that I needed to try again in case my Racer S was now in an unusable condition. This is not an encouraging message considering what these things cost. I had to re-pair the device and tried again with the same result. The pairing was lost again and I have now got it back. Fortunately the bike seems to function Okay, but I have lost all confidence in the process, not wishing to turn my bike into an expensive piece of junk. Is it possible to do this update via the usb port perhaps? If not how important is it?

Gilbrek
