Is it possible to control E3 ergometer from an external computer?

You know E3 contains a limited number of internal programs for exercise. Can we use a computer linked to E3 to prepare new exercise programs?

Which software is to buy for this purpose?

I am newbie here, I have not even assembled my new E3 for use. But it would be very interesting to know the possibilities.

You can use the KETTLER WORLD TOURS Software to control your E3. KWT has many programs and in animation mode you can drive on gps tracks.

Change the internal programs is not possible with E3. KWT can do this on some ergometers but not on all.

For me it seems a bit more difficult. E3 has a serial interface only and the package of E3 does not contain the 4 button control panel.

My E3 package has a "world tours 1.0" demo CD. I want to give it a try. But I should buy a USB serial adapter. However without that control panel I will certainly fail with it.

Do you know what was the reason why Kettler gave me this CD? An advertisement? By chance?

I bought E3 in Hungary. Do you think Kettler sells E3 in Germany differently? I am puzzled and a bit discomforted. Should I have travelled to München to by E3 and that way I must have got that "control panel" with the E3 package?

The Demo Version works without control panel.

But you need some wire to connect it with your pc.

The demo can also be used with demo devices. These devices generate training values so you can se how the software works.


With the KWT package you will get an USB wire, USB converter and the control panel.

At the moment I do not buy an USB/serial converter plus a cable. I think I get the KWT package. How can I buy it? Can I buy it on the internet? By the post? Pay by card? A lot of questions.

Better to forget the demo CD.

You know I saw E3 is sold in Germany as low as 450 EUR. In Hungary I bought it for 611 EUR as the cheapest. Funny to see that things get more expensive in poor countries. As usual. KWT is sold for at least 200 EUR or more?
